i don't know how many more "fuck you tj klune for ruining my life" i have left in me. i went into this series thinking it'd be a wholesome story about two werewolves, not all of this....

imagine you're standing on a crossroad and there are trucks speeding your way from all sides, they hit you and you feel everything, you get up and more trucks hit you and it goes on and on...this is what reading this book feels like

The third entry in the Green Creek story is, so far, my favorite. Klune sweeps the rug out from under his readers with a unique entry into the series. Robbie’s whole arc is heartbreaking yet satisfying. I can’t spoil anything without revealing a big twist, but instead I’ll just point out the one thing I didn’t like. Some of team human’s humor still felt like it was at a bad time, but Klune puts some of it in a good light.
By having two of team human become wolves after Robbie’s attack, it feels like they’re trying to reach out to him instead of feeling like humorous filler.
Overall, a wonderful read, and I can’t wait to finish the series.

2.5, rounding to 3. The reader is deliberately left in the dark in the beginning, which I did not appreciate. I didn't want to have to figure out what is going on or wait for a big reveal. But after that was done, the story was entertaining, with Klune's trademark humor. It feels like it's dragging on a bit but I look forward to reading the series end.

I loved this series when I read it, and I love it even more when it's read to me by Kirt Graves. In this third installment in the Green Creek series, we're following Robbie and Kelly. This book has kind of jarring start with Robbie in Maine with the alpha of all and a new character, Ezra. Robbie seems happy enough and quite attached to Ezra. But something is just off and Robbie is not quite sure what. When the Bennett pack shows up, he's sure they're the enemy and has no memories of his years with them. That includes memories of his mate, Kelly. It is often a painful and heart wrenching journey for Robbie and Kelly, I found myself openly weeping through a lot of this book (as per usual with this series). Klune's writing style for this series is so lovely that many of the passages feel like poetry and convey so much emotion with so few words. The over arching storyline of the series is furthered with this book, but the core of it is the connection between Robbie and Kelly. There is good ace representation through Kelly's character and the deep love and respect Robbie has for his orientation. Kirt Graves adds so much depth to the characters through his narration. I would absolutely recommend this book, but the series needs to be read in order to get the full effect.

Originally wasn’t as excited for this book because Robbie and Kelly are calmer characters in the previous book. Ended up really enjoying seeing Robbie find his way back to the pack and Kelly standing up for his love. Kelly is the sweetest in the pack and deserves the world. He’s fought so hard for Carter when he turned Omega in Ravensong and then for Robbie when he was missing/ lost his memories. I only wish we got to see more of them originally falling in love because Robbie is so embarrassing and funny trying to show his feelings when he was happy Robbie. Overall, this book helped move forward the plot with the big bad (Gordo’s dad Robert Livingtone) but in a cozier way as it was mostly Robbie realizing he cares about the Bennet pack again and all the characters showing how much they love him and each other.
