I'm actually a big fan of Dan Slott. He revived the She-Hulk series for me in a big way. And in my opinion did amazing things for this Spidey series! Not only is this a totally engaging story, but the art work is prime in this. I can't wait to read the next installment.
I'd love to work some of the stuff I read in this in my turned based writing.

Seeing that my local public library has about every graphic novel and comic book compilation, I decided to give Marvel NOW a shot. This is a very well written spider-man, and Otto Octavius makes for an extremely pragmatic hero, regardless of his motivations. The Vulture and Massacre stories were particularly good.

I have been reading a lot of DC comics lately and while they have been pretty enjoyable there has definitely been something missing....and what's been missing....it's not Marvel.
This has just so much more feeling, depth, heart and soul than anything DC is putting out.
Dr. Octopus has taken over Spider-Man's body and he's out to prove that he's a better Spider-Man than Peter Parker could ever be.
This is great.

Superior Spider-Man #1 a #5

Very interesting to examine the changes that Spidey is going through, but the character design/artwork is sometimes iffy, like verging on cartoonish at times (see The Avengers who appear in the current run).

I had heard this was great, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite this good (Spider-Man has never been my favorite character). Can't wait to read vol 2.
