This is the first book in the Kingsmen Football Stars and it’s an enemies to lovers, second chance, sports romance. Eight years ago Lee Burrows broke Shayna Kudrow’s heart when it was revealed that the romantic relationship between the two started because of a bet. Now, Lee is the star quarterback of the San Francisco Kingsman and Shayna is the newest member of the medical team. I loved this book and could not get enough of it! There were interesting, rich characters and a captivating storyline that held my attention from the first page. I liked having listened to the prequel so I had a few tidbits of information that made the book better. The push and pull between the characters, the tension, and the relatable characteristics of these characters made this an amazing book!
I loved the narration by Joe Arden and Callie Dalton. They brought the characters to life and I loved that this was a duet narration! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

There were some moments that were enjoyable for me. For the most part, plot points felt far too obvious, and there was very little chapter development.
What a great way to see out 2022 than with a brand new series from this talented duo. You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows is a wonderful start to this Football series. When Shayna gets her dream job at the San Francisco Kingsmen Football team as an athletic trainer, she knows that she will come face to face with the man who lied to her, broke her heart and her trust in college. When Lee sees the one woman he ever truly loved standing at the front of the room as a new employee, he realizes that he was a fool to ever let her go, but with a non-fraternization policy in effect at the Kingsmen, he knows nothing can happen. When Lee gets injured and needs to undergo rehab, he requests Shayna in the hope that he can win back her trust and friendship.
Piper Rayne bring great energy to their writing, you can feel the chemistry, love, angst and friendship as it draws you in and wraps you in a warm hug! I love the witty banter and the way the characters develop and grow throughout the book, making it a great launching pad for what promises to be a fun series. A must read!

It wasn’t bad, it was just a book I’ve read too many times before when I’m not in the mood for something that’s fine for folding the washing
