This was a decidedly disappointing read for me.  I felt that the main characters, Lee & Shayna, were lacking depth & personality; the supporting characters were far more interesting.

We get a brief overview of what caused the relationship between the two of them to disintegrate in college, but I never really felt any romantic connection between the two of them.  I also thought that the pacing & the conversations between characters was weird - it’s not something I can directly put my finger on but things just felt just enough off to give me the ick.

Unfortunately, I think this is the end of the road for me & this author pairing.  I just haven’t gelled with their other books that I’ve read, and I have too many books to read to continue reading books that I’m not going to enjoy.

This book is so cute. I loved their love story. Who doesn’t love a second chance romance, especially one where he’s the pursuer. Lee and Shayna’s story is emotional but they just work together and you want them to end up happy. I really loved the other team members and can’t wait to meet them each in their own story.
I admired Shayna’s drive and passion for what she has done and how far she has come. And it’s heartening how sorry Lee really is and it really speaks to his character that he’s remorseful and truly cares for her.
Looking forward to the next instalment of the Kingsmen series!

This book was heartwarming and steamy along with hopeful!

You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows is a second chance, sports romance full of hope and great chemistry. Instantly I love Lee and Shayna from their prequel but I enjoyed their characters the more I read this book. Lee Burrows is determined and caring. Shayna is so strong and definitely found her self worth. They match very well and I really enjoyed reading the entire book. The banter between all the characters was great as well.

I listen to this on audio and really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend it for anyone!

You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows
Kingsmen Football Stars #1
by Piper Rayne
Narrated by Joe Arden and Callie Dalton

After their meet cute in the False Start, I couldn't wait to see where life would take Shayna and Lee! And what a journey these two take! Playing for team of his dreams, Lee is riding high. And then she walks in. Lee has not seen Shayna for years, and now she comes into his domain and is a new athletic trainer. The question is, has she forgiven him? Shayna knew coming to the team she would have to deal with Lee. But if she just acts aloof and ignores him, all will be good, right? Will he be able to convince her he is the man for her? Romantic and sweet, frustrating and funny, Piper Rayne delivers a fantastic sports romance. It's great characters with teammate antics, a little drama and a whole lot of friendship and passion. Rayne's writing style is perfect at giving us humor and all the feels, and this book is all that. Love this start to her new series!

Joe Arden and Callie Dalton bring it all to life. These two are consummate professionals, engaging with their characters and finding the nuances that make them feel like we know them. I love them together and they made this a fabulous listen.
