This is the first book in the Kingsmen football stars series, this is Shayna and Lee's book.
Shayna gets the chance of her dream job, working for the Kingsmen Football Club, there was only one problem with that, her ex who broke her heart years ago in college, Lee Burrows was their star Quarterback, but she could do it and avoid him!
From the moment Lee set eyes on Shayna again he wanted her, she was his biggest regret and he wanted her forgiveness, but he also wanted a lot more than that.
Shayna felt her stomach flutter when she saw Lee again but was determined that she would never let him close to her again, and as they both were employed by The Kingsmen nothing could happen between them.
I loved this book, the banter between the players was really witty and the hot chemistry between Lee and Shayna was heartwarming and exciting where it was going to go.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Thank you valentine pr and piper rayne for giving me the opportunity to read this new release.
USA Today Bestselling Author Piper Rayne begins the Kingsmen Football Stars series with an enemies-to-lovers, second chance story set in the world of professional football.
If you’re a fan of sports star romances, this series, and this author, is for you! I read this book in like 2 days so safe to say, I enjoyed it! 🏉
I adored our lead girlie Shayna, she was a proper badass. We love a driven, stubborn female. I loved Brady and Miles. Honestly, the team banter was my favourite part and made me want to pick up all the other books in the series 🙈
Whilst there were moments that I enjoyed Lee, his character didn’t feel AS strong. He was overly possessive and reactive at the beginning considering we knew nothing of their history. And then, he lost a lot of his alphahole charm as the story went on. 🤷🏻♀️
The story progresses as you’d expect, fun and flirty. Nice level of steam. I was disappointed with the route the book took - our girl deserved better! The epilogue made me a little happier, I just wanted more. Overall, a very quick and easy read! 💕

Athletic trainer Shayna Kudrow is thrilled to land her dream job with the San Francisco Kingsmen football team. The only problem is that the team's star quarterback, Lee Burrows, is also the man who broke her heart in college. As soon as he lays eyes on her for the first time in eight years, Lee realizes that he's never gotten over Shayna. He's determined to win her back, but she has no interest in giving him a second chance. When he's sidelined by a shoulder injury and she's assigned to help him with his rehab, however, it becomes increasingly difficult for her to resist his charms. But there's one more challenge they'll have to overcome: the team's no-fraternization policy. Can they find a way to be together without risking both of their careers?
For the most part, I enjoyed Lee and Shayna's second chance romance. Their banter was a lot of fun, they had great chemistry, and I could tell that Lee was genuinely remorseful about the mistakes he made in the past. That said, there were a few aspects of the story that didn't entirely make sense to me, mainly related to Lee's injury and his contract status with the team. For example, he was initially very concerned about the possibility of an injury because he was in the last year of his contract; he knew that an injury could jeopardize his chances of signing with another team if the Kingsmen failed to offer him a new contract. Because of that, I thought he'd be a little more upset when he actually did injure his shoulder. Strangely, he almost seemed excited about it because it gave him an excuse to spend more time with Shayna. His decision to go to team management and demand that they make an exception to the no-fraternization policy for him as their star player wasn't a good look either. Why rock the boat in a contract year? Either he wasn't a very smart guy, or his football career didn't mean as much to him as he claimed. There's nothing wrong with that; if he'd chosen to retire just to be with Shayna, I would have been all for it. My issue was that he wasn't just risking his own career, he was risking hers too, and he didn't seem to have thought it through very well.
In any event, I'd recommend this book for all fans of contemporary/sports romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Lee Burrows is the star quarterback for the Kingsman. Shayna is the new athletic trainer for the team. The two of them have history together and things did not end well the first time for them.
Even though it has been years since Lee and Shayna have crossed paths and there is a lot of pain and heartbreak between them there is still a strong connection. They are drawn to each other, even if they may not want to be. I love Lee’s determination when it comes to making things right with Shayna. I love that Shayna just doesn’t easily give into Lee and really makes him work for it.
I loved these two characters. I love the back and forth between them in the beginning and I love seeing how their relationship slowly shifts over time. I just couldn’t get enough of them and completely devoured their story.
This is a great introduction to the Kingsman and I can’t wait to dive back into this world! I already am in love with it.

At no point in story did I find out what broke them up when they were in college. Also, I found Sharna an annoying character. She constantly states she's not getting back with him, but he(view spoiler) but he could. Plan stupid reason to fall back in love. He never explains why the bet was made and she doesn't care, even though whole start of this story it's all she thinks about.

Second Chance Romance Meets Workplace Romance
Shayna and Lee come face to face after years a part and terrible misunderstanding but it’s clear that they both still have strong feelings.
I loved the growth of their working relationship to friendship to romance/lovers. And the caretaking scene was so swoony!
Now the wait for Brady and his one night stand turned Nanny!
Once again the audio was wonderful.
