Overall, this was a very charming fairytale retelling and short audiobook to listen to while going about my day! :)

I really liked Bryony as a protagonist and while I think that the character of
Beast
and the buildup of their relationship could've been explored more and the ending felt a tad rushed, I still ended up really liking the storyline. :)

T. Kingfisher's writing style translates beautifully into audiobooks in my opinion and the narrator did a great job in bringing it to life!

I like Kingfishers' writing style a lot. I paused a couple times reading this book to make sure it wasn't one of her scary ones because I'm a baby. I liked how the relationship developed and the different direction the story went, but I can't say I care all that much about beauty and the beast retellings and it felt like something was missing here, not sure what. No regrets having read it though.

This was lovely. The clockworks keep popping up in every book and I still haven't read the clockwork boys. Loved how it took the original fairy tale and modified it so well. This does not end in the typical beauty and the beast fashion (we don't do that in T. Kingfisher's books). It was a bit reminiscent of the seventh bride storyline, but equally unique.

i have a soft spot for fairy tale retellings, which is unfortunate because so many of them are so very bad. this one, however, hit the spot just right.

bryony and roses is a retelling of beauty and the beast, but with added mystery, horror, and a house obsessed with pink.

Kingfisher writes modernized fairy tales really well. I adore this reimagining of Beauty and the Beast where the Beast isn't at all beastly, and my only complaint is that it isn't longer.
