Wow. Just wow. I remember as soon as I finished the first book, just how badly I’d wanted to start this one. As much as I’d loved the first one, this one was that much better. The mysteries in this didn’t stop, and I loved that about it. The romances, the characters, the plot.. It was absolutely AMAZING! This is probably one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. I really do think Avery will end up with Jameson. Libby and Nash’s relationship in this was just chefs kiss. I’M EXTREMELY EXCITED TO SEE WHERE XANDER AND MAX’S RELATIONSHIP GOES TO. I absolutely adore them. They just make so much sense that it’s incredible. Speaking of Max, I really enjoyed the appearance of her in here. Yeah, the phone calls were good, but actually having her in the books, interacting with everyone? It was amazing and I loved it so much. There’s so much I could say about this book, but I don’t have the words. It was genuinely so amazing. I give it 5/5 stars, and I’d definitely read it again.

The Hawthrone Legacy was certainly something, I went thru a rollercoaster of emotions. I was really confused, Avery is too smart for her own good lol. Also her memory is wilddd, she has like photogenic memory.
Also um…Who is eve???
Anywayz, this book is better than the first one, it has better stakes and suspense. And omg I luv max sm. HL is a fit for readers looking for a mystery, but some romance lol. The writing is pretty nice, I just kinda hate the overuse of saying full names lol. But nice book overall.

This was better than book one in my opinion. way more enthralling and more twists and turns. many more gasps and feet kicking.

Like some other reviews said, this is very clearly a second book in a trilogy and it suffers a bit because of that. The ending is very rushed and I would argue that too much happens.
I'm still excited for the third book, but I wish I would have waited until it was out to read this. I will say that at least it doesn't end on a massive cliffhanger, there's just several unanswered questions.
