nothing too groundbreaking here, most of the ideas presented are simple, but as I’m trying to get this new life in order and create new rhythms and routines I had several a-ha moments about how I can best structure our day
2020: I guess I liked this book enough to read it again less than a year later. Definitely geared toward the corporate life, but with simple enough ideas that they can be adapted to any situation, even my homeschooling-freelancing-with-a-night-shift-spouse situation which is about as far away from Silicon Valley as you can possibly get.

Very entertaining and just short enough to be worth recommending to pretty much anyone. However, I think this book will really speak to parents because a lot of the productivity tips as well as the underlying motivation to commit to the routines they outline is to accommodate effective parenting while working and having a creatively demanding side project.

Book Review: "Make Time" - 2.75/5 ⭐️

I started Make Time with high hopes, and it did deliver some helpful tips, but overall it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. 📚

What I liked:
- Scheduling "me time" and being productive within that time ✅
- Not letting others double-book you during your dedicated time ⏰
- Writing things down because it actually makes you more likely to get them done ✍️
- Creating a priority list that includes you and your health 💪🏼 🧘

However, there were parts I didn’t agree with:
- The idea that it's okay to flake on people or plans just because it's your time 🤷🏻‍♀️. I believe it's more about not over-booking yourself in the first place. Life happens, but flaking on others who are counting on you is not the same as canceling due to unavoidable circumstances.
- The focus on self-importance at the expense of others—it felt a bit too me-centered, especially as a parent of four, where I’m second only to my health 💖.

If you're struggling with time management, and want to stop doom scrolling or wasting time, this book might offer some help. However, if you're looking for more long-term habits, I recommend Atomic Habits over this one. 🔄
