Solid 5 stars. I implemented strategies for quieting the digital world as I made my way through the book and the important things rose to the surface. I ended up restructuring my days around my Highlight and blocks of focused work. I feel WAY more focused and intentional. This book is a life-changer for me.
In which two people who worked very hard on making all these apps tell you how to put in the effort to ignore the said apps in order not to go completely insane.
Some good tips. Some typical SV bullshit. I suspect very useful and effective though.

This was a good compliment to Newport's "Digital Minimalism." Think of this as the McCartney to DM's John. Where DM advocates a deep rethinking of priorities, MT is a collection of catchy tweaks, stuff you could put into action in the next few minutes, in hopes of changing your habits for the better.

I liked the focus on actionable advice. For someone starting out on improving productivity, there's definitely a lot here. For someone versed in the subject, though, there's a lot that repeats ideas which have been around for a while.
I also would have liked more evidence or proof that the advice worked beyond the authors or their friends or co-workers having tried it. A little more scientific explanation beyond the generic, hand-wavy "we're cavemen" which - while true - is not explained very well, especially when it comes to relating it to the advice.
The book is clearly a combination of a bunch of blog posts bound together into a book, but it was at least a collection of ideas and not just one idea stretched to book length.

An actual how-to. Though it was really engaging on audio, best consumed on paper because it’s almost exclusively action items which is refreshing for this type of book. You need to be able to take notes, refer back easily, etc.
