I fear I am too burdened by reality (as I know it) to stay afloat in her stream of consciousness.
not sure whether I'm reading the rough uncut first draft of a Woolf novel or the diary entry of a performative man after a bad trip. the narration is an "improvisation," a telling of instant before instant after instant, signifying nothing.
Lispector described her work best: "I don't know what I'm writing about: I am obsure to myself."
"I don't like what I just wrote -- but I am duty-bound to accept the whole section because it happened to me. And I have much respect for what I happen to myself. My essence if unconscious of itself and that's why I obey myself blindly."

stopped reading at p24. will return to this when I want to borrow some pretentiousness for my own writing.

I'm full of acacias swaying yellow, and I who have barely started my journey, I start it with a sense of tragedy, guessing toward which lost ocean my steps of life are leading.

people said the clarice lispector reading experience is like being in a dream. this book, however, made me feel like i was accessing someone else's memory – with the way she described time and place, atmosphere and feeling.

it's philosophical nature made me float into a tangent of what ifs? and how abouts? but the conversational style (addressing "you" and "i") grounded me to remind the essence of those questions: about how i feel about life, and how i can treat life as it is. i can just be.
