Very charming story. It has a few odd plot movements that jump quickly. I enjoyed the story but I did find that I had to pay more attention while reading than most books. I love a good twist but this book has more sharp turns than twists. It does not take from the story but it does make it a more challenging read for me personally.

Margaret Rogeraon is a master at writing forbidden love!

Isobel is a skilled painter in the summer court of Whimsy, who paints portraits for the Fae in exchange for enchantments that make her life easier and safer for her and her family. The Fae value human craft because they can't create anything (writing, painting ect) without dying.

A prince of the Autumn lands, Rook, comes to her for a portrait and Isobel's life is a whirlwind of change, and they break the one law that the fae have— never fall in love.

This book is so good! I loved every second of it and loathed putting it down. I highly recommend it to fantasy romance lovers!
