A Murder is Announced shows off Christie's talent for red herrings and giving at least half-a-dozen characters a motive for the crime, making it a challenge to figure out whodunit before the big reveal. However, I found many of the twists a little too far-fetched, making the resolution of this one fall flat. It's still getting three stars because I was gripped for a good portion of the mystery and I found a lot of the clues quite clever, so I'm not walking away feeling like I wasted my time. This just wasn't one of Christie's best. It's worth a read if you're going through all of Christie canon, but don't start with this one.

I liked this one

I unfortunately don’t much enjoy Agatha Christie’s. This is probably more like a 2 star read. The audiobook voice actor was also kind of horrendous. There were way too many characters with nothing interesting or clear to distinguish them and the resolution is altogether too fantastical and confusing with all these fake identities.
