This was weird as hell. I understand why people either hate or love it. I wasn't sure at first if I could finish it, but it grew on me as I read. It's gritty, dirty, and unpleasant in a lot of ways. I'm not sure if I liked it despite all that because of the writing or if it's something else about it that's kept me from putting it down. Whatever it is, I think this book is one that'll for sure stick with you.

A couple sets out to produce a family of "freaks" and complex sibling/family dynamics ensue when they succeed. It's a pretty weird ride, but I really enjoyed this book. However, it seemed to start off strong, slow down in the middle, and then pick up again at the end. It probably could have been about 50-70 pages shorter...

i will die for this book. it is my favorite book of all time. it is a roller coaster of insanity from start to finish and to say anything would be a disservice to you. go in blind. but definitely do go in.
