I plan to revist the book at another time. Currently I am struggling to focus on the story.
I was trying to listen to this on audio and just couldn’t get into it. I rewound and relistened and just couldn’t. That’s possibly more on me than the book, though, since I’m not great at listening to books. Perhaps I’ll try to read it with my eyes at a later date.

This was messed up. And not in the way I usually like. 3 stars mostly for uniqueness and plot but I found the writing sort of hard to follow.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Y'all, I don't even know. I can't find the words to describe how I felt about this book. It simultaneously intrigued and infuriated me. I can't say it's bad, because it's too well-written to be bad. I can't even say what bugged me about it. But I didn't want to quit reading. I just don't know.
You should read it and tell me.

My mother has always said this is her favorite book. Her novel that she returns to again and again. So as a teen I decided I also needed to read it. It did not hold as much interest for me as it did for my mom but a great story all in the same. And a novel that helped to define a part of my youth as I was still clinging to certain aspects of my parents and yet doing everything in my power to individuate from them.
Very weird book. Hard to call it enjoyable but it was pretty compelling and I suspect it will stay with me.
The first book in a long time that I was unable to finish. The characters were unbelievable and unlikeable and the plot seemed to be going nowhere. Maybe if I had finished it I would think differently. I will admit that the premise is very interesting, so at least it wasn't a total waste of time.
