I liked how real the story was, and I liked getting to know the characters and the friend group dynamics. The ending, while not a happy one, made a lot of sense.

I really enjoyed this read as through its comic style it spoke about growing up, the difficulties of evolving friendships and relationships, growing up in a small town, and learning about your own identity and what you want in life amongst all this. The art style was really neat as there was a good mix of vibrant and darker colors and I enjoyed details like the close ups of particular scenes and the glimpses we got into the characters’ world. I think the only thing I would have liked to see delved into further were some of the side plots that didn’t get much of a chance to evolve but perhaps that could happen more in a sequel to this instead of trying to jam more into this read. Overall, I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to others as I think whether you’re a teen or adult there are ideas explored here that are applicable to navigating life and all it’s strangeness.
