This book was hard to get through because it was so cheesy and not terribly interesting. The plot was are minimum for my enjoyment. The relationship was cute but just too cheesy for me.

Honestly my fav Katee Robert book so far and I have read A LOT of her books. I am such a fan of the “irredeemable”, possessive, storm cloud male character matched with a sunshiny, trying not to have feels, smart female character. It is niche but totally my fav pairing and Katee writes it so well. Also her diversity with characters is effortless without being a big deal. Are there a lot of white characters? Yes. But the diversity of the rest of the cast is not like “oh look at me being diverse!” It is just normal which I appreciate. A great sequel to Neon Gods and I think I actually prefer this one. Much spicer and the “marriage of  convenience trope but they fall in love” gets me every time.

Good, not great, but still worth reading. I really enjoyed the further exploration of Olympus politics which is what brought me back to this series. Eros and Psyche are likeable characters, especially Eros, even if they are a bit straight forward archetypes. Katee Robert’s writing is at times too simplistic and they have a tendency to repeatedly beat points over your head unnecessarily, rather than writing them in a way that feels natural. There’s also some places where there’s excessive or unnecessary detail such as every outfit a character wears, and every single thing they do including the car that gets them from point A to B. Overall, a compelling story with good fat representation that I think could’ve been crafted a bit better. I’ll continue with the series because Robert’s world building and concept of the city of Olympus and it’s politics is fascinating and well done.

This was wild. Eros is his mother’s “fixer,” ruining reputations, exiling, and unaliving people at her whim. He is ordered to cut out Psyche’s heart, and fully plans to go through with it until nearly the last moment, when he has a change of heart. He saves her and falls for her, and that’s literally the only redeeming thing he does. Psyche shrugs off all of his murders and atrocities, and all is well. WTF? “Even monsters deserve love.” This book just wasn’t for me. Serial killers don’t deserve love. This was fucking weird. It doesn’t even say he’s out of the business of killing people, it just HEA and ends.

Such an interesting take on the structure and workings of a society based on Greek mythology. More importantly, I really enjoyed Psyche and Eros as main characters. They really shined and really grew into themselves and their strengths as the book progressed.
