last half is rip your heart out vibes. really sweet.

I’ve never had a genuine sobbing reaction from a book like this before. Holy cow!
I do think the beginning is a little slow but the end hit me in my feelings more than I ever expected.
While i feel like I knew what was coming, it was so beautifully written that it didn’t even matter.
4.8/5 for sure

DID NOT FINISH: 12%

I usually love his writing but I struggled with the pace and characters in this one. For being such an emotionally charged topic, it felt really flat to me.

Speaking as someone who was 15 in 1996 what parents were still sending their pregnant teens to live with nuns?!!! I couldn't get past how awful her family was! Not to mention she was a completely bla and insecure character. Why is Nicholas Sparks writing books that center around teenage girls? He's obviously never been one. This is my first and last Sparks book for sure

Like everything else this man has ever written, The Wish made me ugly cry.

It's a poignant story of loss and most importantly, of love and family. It's about how love is always stronger than fear.

I recommend this to everyone because you too must cry lol

I put off reading this knowing it was going to be a sappy love story. It was a sappy love story with a bittersweet ending, and I loved it! Maggie and Brice, Maggie and Mark, Maggie and Maggie bear gave me a much needed love story.

I don’t understand how this book has such a high rating. I found the main character insufferable. Eventually her and Bryce’s relationship became charming (I guess) but I don’t believe that someone like him would fall in love with someone like her. She was right when she said he was too good for her. None of it really felt natural. The ending is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2.
