Nate is the sweetest. Absolutely loved the cowboy/horse riding second half at Nate’s ranch.

Hockey/baseball player romance; hurt/comfort; grumpy sunshine; mental health rep. City kid/cowboy romance.
The MMCs were engaging. I would’ve liked to see more time spent on Marcos’ past, PTSD and treatment.

I am nothing if not a J.J. Mulder loyalist! And this one, oh gosh, it's her best one yet!

Immediately, this went on my 'Favorites of 2025' list...and for good reason! Nate and Marcos are two absolute sweethearts, and everything about them fits together so perfectly, ugh! I keep thinking about them, even though it's been 3 days since I finished this book!

First, I am an absolute sucker for a sweet farm boy and the farm life. Nate is such a good character; everything he does is out of care for his loved ones. That just makes it so much sweeter that he wanted to share his love and care with Marcos. I looooooove theeeeeeeeeem! Marcos and Nate would so clearly do anything for the other, even if that put their comfort at risk. Marcos, you are an angel!

J.J. so clearly writes about what she loves and knows, and I can't help but fall in love with this setting of hers and these boys.

Second, seeing the way Nate would never give up on Marcos made my heart melt. And when Marcos finally was able to return that, I knew this was it. They're just such a happy, lovely pair, and I just cannot picture them on their ranch together without smiling. These two genuinely have my heart aching for what they have!

Although I am a big fan, I have maintained the same feeling across majority of her hockey series since the beginning that the endings left me wanting more. Well, not this time! This is the best, most conclusive ending in all the 'Offsides' and 'SCU Hockey' books. Nate and Marcos deserved it so so much, and it genuinely made me so happy to see them together.

I want to give a big shoutout to J.J. for providing an eARC of this amazing story, and I am so excited for where this amazing series ends in the future!

It started abruptly and honestly it was a bit unrealistic and unbelievable how Nate fell for Marcos, but it was a sweet story.
