Although it was your typical "Christmas spirit" reyelling with some Hallmark movie flair. It actually ended up being a story I truely enjoyed.
It was about love and 2nd chances. Not just with a romantic partner, but family, friends, people in our circles and work. What a bit of kindness and eye-opening moments can achieve.
Spoileralert for this part:
Parenthood and motherhood in particular. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows. The author described fears and moments that are very plausible. The realness made you connect with the characters. We see our main character, a successful, single, publisher with a bad attitude and disregard of her surroundings, suddenly get dropped in a situation she had taught herself to loath and look down upon: motherhood.
Her eyes are opened and she selfreflects on her former way of living.
Once back, she changes her ways. No gaslighting, no negative speech, humble and most of all following her career dreams. She opens her own publishing house that cares for the story and less for sales. She opens a bookshop with a café. And finally she asks hee soulmate for a 2nd chance.
The story warmed my heart even if it is a bit of a cliché. The author brought it perfectly with enough raw parts which made me enjoy it alot. I hope her other books are as good, even beter.
Lastly, as I listened to the audiobook I have to give credit to the amazing voiceover artist. The way she spoke brought depth to the scenes and characters.
Some positive, keytopics:
Loving families, Financial responsibilities, Gentle yet firm parenting, no shame to motherhood, selfreflection, humility, kindness, openmindedness, a workspace with cooperation vs dictatorship, work-life-balance
Small warning:
There are scenes with a bit more sexy talk and desire.

This is a generous 3⭐. The tone was all wrong, and barely saved with the ending. If you don't want kids you'll become a mean, sad, soulless shell of a woman, clearly.

A Christmas Caroline - Camilla Isley
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Caroline is a cynic career woman living the high life in Manhattan where love and relationships are but a distant memory of the past.
But after a freak accident on Christmas Eve, Caroline receives a visit from a cheeky spirit of Christmas Past, Present, Yet to Come, and—most importantly—Christmas That Could Have Been. When she wakes up on Christmas Day suddenly married with three kids and living two doors down from her parents in New Jersey, Caroline has a chance to experience the life she would’ve had if she’d made a different choice.
This is a modern day twist on the classic A Christmas Carol - it has been done really well. This is the second book in the Christmas Romantic Comedy series but as they are stand-alone books could very easily be read as a standalone. I flew through the majority of this book in my lunch break as I just couldn't get enough.
It is just a delightful and sweet book that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone that is a fan of either Camilla's or A Christmas Carol. In places I forgot that this was a re-telling as it is a good book in its own right.
