This book is going to stay with me for a long time. This was a really well written and researched narrative which focused on the effects that trauma has on people's lives. A compelling case was made that we should be asking "What happened to you?" rather than "What's wrong with you." This book provided the perfect mix of not sugarcoating the severity of trauma while still providing the hopeful assurance that it is never too late to heal. I listened to this on audio, read by Bruce Perry and Oprah, and their dialogue was so engaging to listen to. Oprah never disappoints and it was incredible to hear her describe "trauma wisdom" as the way you will discover your superpower.
