I understand that this book is a metaphor for feeling out of place and alienated in this world, but I hated reading it sorry xxxx

Reading this in a very different light after having started with Letter to his Father. Poignant, extremely relatable. Kafka really has a way of embracing the uncomfortable.

Good read.
Being able to use such a short, unique story to touch on family dynamics the way it did was incredibly well done.
It was efficient at making you feel for Gregor. He spent so long working to keep his family afloat, but after turning into a bug, and the family again is left in turmoil, that's when his family decides to work again. instead of getting jobs earlier to help relieve Gregory's stress.
A family that I didn't care for at all.
A solid day read to help get through a hangover either way.
