It breaks my heart to have have to review this book like this but going from Shades of Magic to this was a huge shock to the system. Yes, it is written beautifully - yet, still vastly different to Shades of magic. I definitely loved the darker feel the overall story had but that's really all I enjoyed. I loved Matteo and Alessandro as side characters and this middle part of the book was the only part of the "plot" that I enjoyed. Now I don't mind slow stories and I don't mind character focused stories but unfortunately I didn't like nor related to any of these characters - I also felt as if they had not depth. It honestly felt like three women who get turned into vampires and don't know wtf to do with their lives and we just went along for the ride. I think this story would have had so much potential had it included any sort of plot instead of feeling like a very long diary entry.
