every man in this book should be in prison
Graphic: Adult/minor relationship, Infidelity, Pedophilia
slow-paced
Pretty gross to read. Not really interesting either. All scandals and pedophilia. Seriously all of the grown men are trashy and constantly talking about how sexy their 15 year old students are. I'm not sure if this is meant to be a statement about how rampant minor abuse is or if the author didn't recognize it was gross and creepy (like his use of the slur r*t*rd)
Different times, sure. But it still felt gross to read.
None of the women were written well either.
I liked Traci's narrator a lot. She did fantastic.

I read this in an afternoon. Having seen the movie long ago, I don’t think I was prepared for the subtext within. The parallels to Hillary Clinton in this book cannot be ignored and this was well before 2008, let alone 2016. Tracy Flick is a force to be reckoned with and really a look at the American political institution at large and how we vilify strong, confident women everywhere. I could not put this down. Looking forward to reading the sequel soon.
The drama of a high school election in the early 1990’s – from the perspectives of teachers and students. Entertaining diversion, of its time. A long time since I saw the movie.
I really enjoyed this. The ending was different from and better than the movie.
