My heart and head are too full to say much about this book except that I love it and it's perfect.
This was an all-around fun read. I loved the premise of the game and I had fun reading about its final stage.

So much fun to read in October! I loved the game play premise of this book, and especially liked the humanization of the characters. The widow was my favorite.

I am getting so dang lucky with books this year this is another good one!!!! That I picked up on a whim!!
I really wanted to like this one from the flap copy alone; this was supposed to be [b:The Westing Game|902|The Westing Game|Ellen Raskin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1356850909l/902._SX50_.jpg|869832] for adults, there are queer characters, and it is set in the city I live in. But the book never fully came together for me, largely because most of the characters were really underdeveloped. There were also a lot of totally unnecessary dangling plot threads.

it’s been such a long time since i read a book that felt like home. this was such an incredible, weird little story filled with incredible, weird little characters. i loved every second of it.
This book is kind of dark, but at the same time light-hearted and fun. I'm not really sure how the author pulled that off, but I approve.
The story is partly a puzzle game, partly a celebration of the history of Boston--particularly as is it linked to Edgar Allan Poe, partly an ode to human connections and relationships--whether they be romantic or platonic, and partly an testament to loss and grief.
