Honestly I found Tuesday hearing ghosts more endearing than I thought I would? The silliness of the scavenger hurt paired with the very real but cliche rich family drama was nice. A very enjoyable bedtime read for the month.
I had high hopes for this book, it drew me in as a smash between ready player one and crazy rich asians, was based on Boston (homesick yay). The ending was nice, it had since good wise insights, but honestly felt super shallow. Trying to squeeze in every possible feeling, attention-grabbing activity into one book, each character basically went through a "realize this is all I have to do for a better life or to process my pain", which was shallow. Each of those moments could have felt so much more meaningful and heartfelt, and instead felt like facebook posts.

A fun novel set around a scavenger hunt theme with some serious undertones and character development throughout. A dying billionaire sets the people of Boston on a citywide scavenger hunt with the promise of getting access to his rumored treasures. We meet a wide-ranging cast of characters, all joining the hunt for their own reasons. The main thing I loved about it were the deep cut references to Boston (and especially Newtowne Grille, one of my favorites). It may not be quite as entertaining for someone who isn’t a local, but hey. Give it a go if you want!

This book reminds me of a grown-up Westing Game with more in depth puzzles and a bit more Murder. It was fun following along and trying (and abysmally failing) to solve the clues. I also loved getting to know the characters and their motivations for participating in the game. All in all, a great book with unique characters and surprises hidden down every alley.
I wish I could give it more stars. It’s a puzzle, a movie, a game, a book, all wrapped up in a package that’s so delightful. And fun. And heart warming. And thrilling. And puzzling. And. And. And.
I gave this book 3.5 stars. This book definitely had promise. Tuesday Mooney is in her 30’s, single, eccentric, does research and profiles of people for a living and because of a tragedy when she was in high school- she doesn’t let people get close to her. She has a best friend but she holds him at an arm lengths away. Billionaire Vincent Pryce dies and when he does he challenges Boston to solve a mystery to receive part of his inheritance. The book is cute and while the characters are ok but it was nice to see them evolve and grow. I’d recommend this book to anyone who needs a light read.
It gets an extra star for being the exact book I needed right now.
I was really hoping to love this book; it's usually the kind of thing I love. But it fell flat for me for some reason. I just didn't get into the mystery and the characters didn't really grab me. The book tells the story of the mysterious scavenger hunt (with plenty of Edgar Allen Poe references) that occurs after the death of an eccentric billionaire. Tuesday Mooney and her friends join in the hunt. Along the way, they meet a mysterious bad-boy billionaire with his own secrets and family mystery. I think I was too much going on for me. I'm in the minority on this, for sure. If you like scavenger hunt stories, especially of the literary variety, go ahead and give this one a chance.
