Could have been 5 stars, but cluttered with too many details and side plots about minor characters that didn't aid the storyline. Okay ending but not wholly satisfying, would have liked an epilogue.

Really cute whodunit mystery/rom-com mix with a dash of the supernatural topped off with a feel good ending. It initially had me rolling my eyes, but as the story progressed I became more involved and intrigued. It really had a little bit of something for almost everyone. It was a strong mystery with many moving parts, as the story progressed we were given enough information so we didn't feel lost and thankfully the story came together really well in the end answering any remaining questions and tied up all the loose ends.

Would've given it 5 stars but the end was just okay.

DID NOT FINISH

This book started off amazing. I was so sure I would love it.

Then the author tried to do too much. It became exhausting to listen because everything was happening always - extra plot bits and trivia and characters and romances and backstories got crammed in all over the place. It completely killed my interest in the actual story. It wasn’t enough for there to be a love story, there had to be three.

SPOILERS BELOW: I got halfway through the book.

Dory was my favorite character, but then she had to have her own story instead of supporting Tuesday, and meet a boy, and fight with her dad. It was too much.

Archie isn’t really Archie and what happened to his dad and what’s wrong with his family and why is he hiding from them and what does he need from Pryce’s collection and is he in love with Tuesday? IT IS TOO MUCH.

I rage quit when Tuesday, who is supposed to be an incredibly smart woman, got fired for HIPAA violations that she absolutely would have known would be tracked and discovered. There was too much research on what alley Poe was born in and not enough on how the real world actually works.

I just wanted the author to cut out the extra frills and write the good story she started, about an unusual woman with a sad past who meets a man and does a scavenger hunt. The characters are so good, and the promise is there. If this had just been a bad book I wouldn’t be so angry. It’s that it could have been fantastic and squandered that.

This was a really good, somewhat odd book. I enjoyed the cast of characters and the plot and the descriptions. At times, there were too many early 2000s references for me to properly understand what the author was trying to say. But most of the time I really liked the author’s style of writing.
