Sadie's living a normal, if slightly boring, life in London, working as a lawyer and going on unfulfilling dates. She hides her magic, doing everything to distance herself from her family, and the man she made a deal with six years ago, who she still can't seem to forget. When she's summoned home to represent her brother accused of murder, she has to decide whether to keep living a lie or return to the family fold.

There was great world-building, with the little Pleasantville-esque bubble over Mannith, and how it hides in plain sight from non-magical beings. Sadie and Gabriel's had a true enemies-to-lovers (and back again) relationship, and it was perfect! I didn't know whether to root for him or not, but he won me over by the end. Sadie's brother, Brendan, rubbed me the wrong way a lot of the book, but I think that's just a sign of good writing of morally grey characters. I can't wait for the sequel!

Bruh! And I mean that with my whole chest because this book had no business being the intersecting point of so many of my favorite things in books. If the author would allow, the tagline should be smutty, witchy Peaky Blinders meets 1997's film The Devil's Advocate.

This book is pure and glorious trash-fire chisme!!
When I say I gobbled this book up, I burned through it in one night, finishing at 3:30 a.m. While there are certainly issues with the book like character development, a bit of pacing and plot weirdness, and some of the world-building, it was just downright fun! I love that the Sadlers suck, all of them do. I love that the morally gray MC is obsessed instead of in love (a great portrayal of being in love with an idea). I love that this is just the first book because I need more of these toxic ass people.

I truly want everyone to get a throat punch of humbleness in book 2, especially those crazy, crazy Sadlers. Gabe needs THERAPY, and between Sadie's legs is NOT it. I am truly so excited for The Binding Mark.

I received a free audiobook ARC from Netgalley and am never paid for my reviews (but if one warrants it, this would be a great one for it).

Wow what a story, I loved it. Sadie is an incredibly powerful witch but has turned her back on her magic and family to avoid paying her debt back to Gabriel. However, her brother is being framed for murdering Gabriel's father so Sadie has to travel back home to the Dome and represent him in his trail.

Here she is forced to use her magic and confront her family's dark history who will win out her love for her family or her love for Gabriel?

A steamy read with magic and intrigue cannot wait for the next instalment!

I love a good enemies to lovers trope - add forbidden love, family rivalry, a murder mystery, and betrayals and you have "The Twisted Mark".

I enjoyed watching things unravel and the tension that Sadie's brother's trial added. I honestly had no idea who did what or how things were going to end - there were quite a few surprises that popped up along the way.

My main struggle with this book, was Gabriel and Sadie's relationship (or lack thereof). While the tension between them was insane because we had a backstory as to why they were enemies, there wasn't enough time for me to believe they should be more and their time together often felt rushed (or forced). Some of the dialogue (Gabriel's specifically) often was cringey and felt like it didn't align with his character.

Overall, a really fun book, with a little spice for those of you looking for it. I think this is a great starting point for a really fun world and characters, and I am looking forward to seeing Sadie and Gabriel's story continue.

The Twisted Mark is original, enjoyable, fun, easy read. It's an enemies-to-lovers tale centered around the rivalry between two powerful witch families.

There was true character development throughout the book, and the protagonist was likable. None of the characters were fully "good" or "bad" and the major mystery throughout the book had a satisfying conclusion.

I enjoyed this read. The magic system and dome were interesting and the family dynamics were definitely unexpected.
