She's a witch who lost all of her powers when she saved her aunt. He's a historian who works for the guild that banished her. This is a true found family book where the extended cast of characters really makes the whole story. This is the kind of book I love getting lost in.

A lovely cozy fantasy that had me laughing out loud and tearing up.
Favorite parts:
• found family
• Roo Roo
• all the representation
I loved *almost* everything about this book! The open door scene really threw me off and is the only reason I knocked a star off of my rating. It didn’t quite fit into the rest of the cozy, wholesome feel of the book. Truthfully I skimmed through it so I could get back to the plot. Minus that little hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
“He, the Tin Man who recognised his own heart at last, and she, not a shadow or a ghost of what she once was but alchemy, a phoenix who had gone up in flames again and again and yet, each time, had outlasted the fire.” ❤️🔥

It was addictive and flowed really nicely but I felt that there were some things that were left a bit surface level.
It suffered a bit from telling instead of showing and therefore I did not fully connect with the characters. It was all a good mix of wholesome and chaos that added a bit of fun but I felt it lacked something in authenticity.
Will still read her next works as it wasn't too bad and overall I enjoyed my time with this book.
