I read this one for a book club. Sigh. I like the concept (what's hotter than a guy who likes to read). I like that Joelle and her family were so sweet and supportive, and the book club prank was hilarious. I was not a fan of the audiobook readers, so if you plan to read this, definitely do it in print. I was frustrated with how hot and cold the hero was, and the lack of self-awareness that Joelle has in herself. Both characters felt like they were in their early 20s, not early 30s. I can't say that I recommend it, but it was very readable and easy to get through, so mileage may vary depending on your interests.

Ugh, I wanted to like this. Bookshop & bakery owners sounds so cute. But the main guy is a total jerk, and super hot/cold. She says she's shy and "mousey" but instantly jumps into PDAs and sex - which is fine, but feels inconsistent? I loved that they said they're in their 30s, but they act like immature teenagers.

If his main trauma is an alcoholic mom, huuuuuge red flags that he keeps WHISKEY at WORK for stress!

I was really hoping to love this book, in the end I did enjoy it but I did not love it. I really thought it was a cute premise, I loved the bookstore stuff, it was a quick read, I did find myself laughing a few times, I really liked the heroine's family. But ultimately I did not care for the hero (he was such a jerk, and had such hot and cold reactions/emotions), the heroine was also not my favorite and I feel like parts of this was really rushed. I hate that this didn't work for me but I have high hopes to find one by this author that does work for me in the future.
