DNF’d

Reminded me too much of the Bespelled/Bewitched series.
slow-paced

Wanted to love this book. It pulled me in, had several great story lines, but they always dropped off onto the next thing, which is fine, but there isn’t ever any real resolution to anything. I love a good cliffhanger, but that wasn’t it. Based on the teaser for the next book, I can see why it stopped where it did, but still, we needed more.

3 stars for now, only because I despise Leon and am hoping for better for Vivian with the next books. I enjoyed Vivian as the FMC. Her self deprecating humor added a lot of levity to her pretty f*cked up life.
I am trying to avoid incomplete series but was sucked in with that brilliant dedication (lol). I will now impatiently be waiting for book 2!
slow-paced

Were I in high school, I would have fully accepted this as good fantasy smut. As it is, it seems written by someone with very little knowledge of healthy Dom/sub relationships,  who craves the romance parts of “dark romance” books.
The main character is stunningly gorgeous, but of course has no clue, and worse, there’s a lot of virginity idolization that always makes me very uncomfortable to read.
I’d recommend this after I’d recommend Twilight, but before I’d recommend 50 Shades.  —But they’re all bad series.

For the introduction itself I started reading this book. I so wanted this to be as good as its opening lines. Ultimately I wanted to give 3.5 rating to this book.
It confuses me.
No, I absolutely do not have any issue with slow starts or unrealistic imagination or spicy romance, but somehow here everything started on the right note and then lost the effect after a while.
The storyline is absolutely great. Building characters, great. But somehow because everything tends to become so intense that it is losing its effectiveness.
I read the 1st chapter of the next book and hope it will be better than this. Looking forward to read more.
All the best.
