This is one of those really hyped up books that I picked up with high expectations that it failed to meet. It's not just that the characters are one dimensional, the writing seems forced and simplistic too. I nearly permanently put the book down when the "IT" turned out to be a giant brain... This may be passable for young children.

This was a re-read for me. I love revisiting these characters.
I liked the concepts but the main character was very unlikable and the story seemed rushed but that won't stop me from reading the rest in the series.
