Not always easy to read as pain and despair sometimes shine out through the words but ultimately brilliant. I particularly loved the poems in Scots and there is humour too. Favourite poems are Oh Look, Hings Tae Mind ,Wheesht and I'm no havin' children.

A fresh, strong, personal poetry collection. Listening to the audio book read by Pennie herself was ideal for appreciating the use of Scots language and her styles which makes strong use of rhyme. Just sometimes the passion of her reading made it harder to get a hold on a poem for myself but overall I loved her intensity.
