I really, really enjoyed this book but sweet moses, smell the roses, there needs to be a trigger warning on this book. John Green does such an incredible job capturing the thought process of OCD that it felt too close for comfort at times. However, I felt he handled the struggle and the realistic outcomes wonderfully and sensitively.

Once again, Green has shown why he is a force in the YA genre - he treats his young characters with respect and does authentic stories which challenge the cliches.

Overall, I think this is a strong book for both YA and adults. Highly recommended.

The OCD description was quite good. The mystery not so great.

According to my friend I have a blood phobia. When i see, read about, or hear the word blood I get light-weighted. Writing those two sentences just got my fingers numb. I don’t call it a phobia however. I don’t faint, or throw up, or any other form of reaction ensues. I think it’s just a weird intrusive thingy of mine.
This book mentioned the b word so many times and got so deep into Aza’s head you’d think I’d pull off and stop reading midway-but I didn’t.
It was that good.

I think and I think and I think.....Reading about someone else’s anxiety gives me anxiety.

Also, you know you’re too old for Y/A novels when the teen narrator mentions her dad’s favorite rap artist cassette tape and you think, “same.”

Such an easy read. This is my first John Green book I’ve picked up and read and it was a delight. I felt like the book flowed really well and I just breezed through it. The only reason I didn’t finish it in one day was because I stared it late one night and had a very busy day the next day.

I think Green wrote his character so amazingly and did justice to his subject matter. While I wish it could have ended a little different I still think he wrapped it up how it should have been.
