This series is addictive for me! I absolutely love the focus on the Psy people in this volume, as Silence has fallen and they are once again having to learn to deal with emotions. The Silence Protocol, which eliminated all emotion, also covered up roaring psychopathy. This volume deals with a sigma-Empath named Memory who has been imprisoned in an underground bunker for most of her life. She is discovered and rescued by a wolf Changeling. This is a Nalini Singh book, so I knew where that was headed!
I put up with all the snarly leopards and growly wolves, but I adore the Psy characters. The Psy Net, its architecture and health are endlessly fascinating. Watching the Psy triage, treat, and repair their lifeline is somehow very satisfying. I also love all the new talents and powers that are being discovered and employed.
Memory has an unusual ability that will prove to be key to the future of the Psy Net. I have no doubt that I will see her again in future books. I already have a hold on the next one, but I am rapidly catching up to Singh. Write, Ms. Singh, write! I need more Psy-Changeling books!

This was my favorite of the new series so far I think. It was fun to see so many of the characters we know and love from previous books, but I also liked Memory and Alexei.
I liked this one! it was great to be amongst the SnowDancer wolves again - I missed them!
I did think the pacing of the relationship was a little hard to believe just because Memory had only recently gone through a major trauma yet was mostly completely recovered enough within a day to tell Alexei she wanted him. gurl, take a breath!
as always, love the world-building, the KalebxSahara cameos, Naya’s cuteness, and the playfulness of the changeling courting.
overall a great return to form after Ocean Light’s miss (for me). it does feel like Singh is telling the same romantic story over and over with just a change in characters - but goddamn is it a great story! even if I don’t LOVE one book, I’m still excited about the next one, like maybe this remix will work? God I’m such a Singh fan.

I love Nalini Singh and Wolf Rain is the perfect example why. The newest entry in the Psy-Changeling series, it shows Singh's depth of storytelling, her consistency and heart as we return to the SnowDancers pack. Alexei is struggling with his past and Memory is dealing with her traumatic past. Together they learn about her power, how to trust each other, and seek justice. A spot on, perfect entry into this long running series.
