I loved this book! It was cute, sweet, and funny, but there was also a healthy dose of reality. It was a beautiful look at trauma, what it does to us, how our upbringing shapes us, and how we can overcome it all and still find love and healing and forgiveness. Justin reminded me of my own husband, so doting and caring, and I really related to Emma and her problems with her mother. It was an adorable yet tear-jerking read that I really enjoyed.

Anything Abby Jimenez writes, I love. I loved everything about this book, the characters, the plot, the writing style, the little found family. Justin is the most pure, loving and the greenest flag to ever exist, the love he has for our girl Emma is the purest form of love. Emma is one of the most empathetic, strongest and kindest character. Abby Jimenez did a great job writing about PTSD and childhood trauma, and how it affects a person… how it follows you. I simply loved everything about this book, if I could erase it from my memory and reread this book all over again, I would.

This was a great summer read and suprisingly deep and meaningful. It was not just about romance, but touched topics of ptsd, child hood trauma, a complex-mother daughter relationship, and the importance of self realization and therapy for healing. I really enjoyed this book and how the main character was a caring impath, but realized she had to set bounaries. The third act break up was not annoying, but necessary for the story. I love the main mmc as well! He was so so sweet and a romantic. Overall, a great read!
