💬: “In a world where you can choose anger or empathy. Always choose empathy.”

I went into this book thinking it was a fluffy romance, but it was deep and emotional while maintaining lighthearted and funny moments. Justin is the poster boy for “if he wanted to, he would.” I loved how this book portrayed mental illness and childhood trauma and how to support friends dealing with this. This was the first book I read by Abby Jimenez but it definitely won’t be my last.

MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER! I literally felt every emotion ever reading this book. giddy, heartbreak, love, anger, regret, grief, joy, fear, embarrassment, heat-like ugh omg! JUSTIN is literally the blue print and I fell in love with him and Emma and Maddy and the whole Dahl family. If you are looking for a romance with but also real life problems and actual hard conversations this is the book for you 🤍🙌🏾

ripped through this one just as fast as the other 3 of hers i’ve read in the last few days - this one was my favorite of them all! loved all the easter eggs,
connecting it back to alexis and daniel’s / briana and jacob’s stories
really heart wrenching and challenging but some good takeaways too 🫶🏻
although i do think anger is still a good emotion, even if you can choose to act on empathy!

This was a both funny and incredibly frustrating book to listen to. Listening to Emma work through the hands life dealt her and the trauma she gained from it was a struggle at times. Howverr, that struggle made the resolution that much sweeter to hear. Emma and Justin were adorable, and their intentions and convictions were inspiring. In the end, I definitely enjoyed this audiobook. The two voice actors also added a level to it I really appreciated. Made me feel even more emotions about the different characters.

I wanted this book to be so wonderful, and it just fell flat. Part of that is a professional hazard - my work life means I probably experienced this book differently than many readers - but part of it is that the pacing felt way off and the narrative didn't hang together coherently in my view.
