I didn’t like this one as well as the predecessor but I still enjoyed it. It didn’t feel like the way they used the wand was for unselfish reasons.

This series is great

The vibe between Jack/Annie & Leonardo da Vinci was very Marty and Doc Brown in Back to the Future, which was very fun. I wish they had done more with their time in the Renaissance than just hang out with da Vinci, since it’s such an interesting time period.

A wonderfully fun book about Leonardo da Vinci!!

Jack and Annie traveled to Italy during the Renaissance. Jack and Annie traveled 500 years back in time to spend a day helping Leonardo da Vinci in the hope of learning another secret of happiness. They had trouble finding Leonardo at first, but Annie used the Wand of Dianthus to locate him. They found him and Leonardo agreed to let them shadow him for the day.

I thought this book is one of my favorite books in this series about a brother and a sister traveling to Italy to follow about Leonardo da Vinci. They learned about him and his picture of Mona Lisa. I would recommend this book to children and adults, because Monday with a Mad Genius is a short and easy read, you can read it on the airplane to Italy, just like I did too.

A good installment in the series. Read aloud to the kids to learn more about Leonardo. Some historical details are definitely a bit off, but the idea of his genius and works are there. The book also gives the reader a good basic working knowledge of Florence ca. 1500. All in all, it was fine, especially since we are reading a couple of his biographies alongside it. One of my favorite Magic Tree House books. No bad guys, no scary parts.

Eleanor has decided she does not want to do full reviews anymore. However, she really liked this book because it had Leonardo da Vinci in it. She even named her two fish Mona Lisa and Leonardo that she got a couple months.

I know, I know. Five stars for a Magic Tree House book? What can I say? I love this series. This one is GREAT for the beginning of the school year. I love the message that happiness comes not from fame, but from curiosity.
