On a mission, Draden was infected with a deadly virus and made the team leave him behind. While killing the enemies he comes across Shylah, and accidentally infects her. Together they work to find an antidote and take out the enemy.
While I did enjoy the story, not a lot really happened. Also I didn't connect with these two like I have with the other ghostwalkers couples. I did like them but I found myself skimming some of their conversation and scenes.
I still enjoy these books but I would really love for her to go back to the other teams again. I really want to see what they are doing and if any of them have found partners

This is the 15th book in the series and I totally was able to read as standalone. With that being said I really want to read the rest of the series. GhostWalkers, Draden and Shylah, stuck in enemy territory and both of them infected with a lethal virus. Dr. Draden Freeman is determined to study the effects of the virus no matter what his fate is to be. He is determined to save Shylah. This was a nice love story with lots of action and things happening along the way.
A different style.
I always knew Draden's book would have to be different. He didn't have the background of the others. Christine Feehan found the perfect way to bring him and his woman together and let us into his background. I very much enjoyed this book.

I used to love this series. I couldn't get through cayenne's story and this one disappointed. The girls are so strong but cripplingly dependant on their husbands? Gag.
Cayenne is pouting, wrapping herself in silk until her husband returns
Peony is so smart...oh but not as smart as her man. He tries to make her feel better by saying 'you give the best blowjobs' .
These women now do through their military adventure with their new 'other half that they are inseparable from...after meeting them 2 days before' and live happily ever after to become broodmares. I get the 'genetic matching' Whitney conducted, but these women completely lose who they are and multiple times it's been mentioned during a love scene that they seem to be ' born to make love to the male'. BARF

Great book, great read, really enjoyed these two, and near the ending was something interesting, and I can't wait to see how it's going to play out in future books!
"i detested them. i detested that people who already had everything they could possibly want would step on others who had nothing. would use them and crush them."
Draden Freeman and the other Ghostwalkers are on a mission in Indonesia to save survivors from the World Health Organization and Army Rangers that had gone into the jungle to investigate the death of an entire village due to some kind of hemorrhagic virus. The local terrorists known as the Milisi Separatis Sumatra or MSS had not only spread the virus, but killed or injured many of those who had come to investigate. During the rescue, Draden is shot with a dart filled with the live virus. To save the others from being infected, he stays behind to burn what is left of the village and remove as much of the threat from the MSS as he can before he dies. He is surprised when he runs across Shylah, another of Whitney's experimental women, and realizes that they are one of his mated pairs. In saving Draden from an attack on the MSS, Shylah is infected with the virus. Now it is a race against time to find a vaccine that will cure both Draden and Shylah before they succumb to the effects of the virus.
Some of the books in the Ghostwalkers' series are the best I've ever read. This book does not live up to the best ones in the series, but it is much better than book 14. Some of the dialogue and actions in the book are a bit over dramatic and require some suspension of disbelief, but overall this is a good entry in the GhostWalker series and worth the read.

I couldn’t put this book down!!! I thought it was so romantic but realistic. They got the job done while still learning about each other and realizing that they were meant to be. One thing I really enjoyed was that while Draden wanted to make love to her, he didn’t so he didn’t infect her more. They found ways to love each other without having to have sex which is wonderful:). Another fabulous book & I can hardly wait for the next in the series!
Well, more like a 3.75. I love the the Ghostwalkers, but this was definitely not my favorite. Obviously the characters aren't going to die so I couldn't feel the tension that it seemed Feehan wanted me to feel. Also, with Draden and Shyla spending so much time isolated I missed the rapport of the group. It was really just blah for me. I just didn't feel invested in the characters or the storyline, which is a shame because I'm such a huge fan of the author and this series. I say read it if you're a Ghostwalker fan, but that's about it.
My first book by Christine Feehan and definitely not my last! The race against trying to cure the virus keeps you on the edge of your seat. The communication between Draden and Shylah is so refreshingly honest, that I was swept into their budding relationship and laughing along with them as they try to beat the clock. This was an exhilarating ride and I'm definitely hooked on the GhostWalker series!
