Overall this was a fine book. I wouldn’t recommend it, but I also wouldn’t discourage someone from reading it. It touched on some sensitive topics (depression, infinite death, infidelity). So I would check out the trigger warnings before reading. I didn’t feel like I connected with any of the characters, so I think that plays into my lower rating.

I always want to like these books more than I do. I felt like the plot was confusing and I wasn’t sure what the plot was, like what we were getting towards. the timeline jumped around a lot between characters so that was confusing. 

also who is the narrator, is it just a random islander? I don’t like the random small parts of 2nd person pov they add in.

I was expecting a fun sexy beach read, and I got a contemplation on grief and alcoholism instead. Ho hum.

I loved the way Hilderbrand structured the story. She is a master of dramatic irony.
