i really liked the premise of this book and was really intrigued by the author's introduction. i just think it was executed a bit sloppily, especially towards the last 100 or so pages. conflicts were resolved far too easily and a lot of important plot points were seemingly brushed over. cute, but not letting my niece pick books for me again i don't think

High school senior Wes is misunderstood — by his teachers, his counselor, his friends, but most of all, by himself. Is he the tough guy persona he puts on at school, stealing lunches and getting in fights? Is he the doofus guy who works at a pizza shop with his two buddies, enjoying a few (illegal?) substances here and there? Or is he his mother’s caretaker, helping with rent and doing his best to not make her worry? Or, is he the guy with a crush on Tristan, a ballet dancer who goes to a private school and lives a totally different kind of life but who also makes him want to do better?
