Great read

I quite enjoyed this book and plan on looking for more Father Brown books. I recommend reading this book soonest.

I can appreciate the first two books of this, and then you can really feel the author coming through the mouthpiece.

It took me a half a year of stopping and starting to get through this volume. Sometimes the hook is so subtle, you don't realize you missed it until the following paragraph. The line between criminal and police is so well blurred that the amorality of the setting makes Father Brown all the more ironic. I think it would have been better to start off with the individual collections, though, for sanity's sake.

I think it's time to admit that I'm really not just a huge fan of Chesterton's fiction.

I decided to read this because I love the TV show. I was greatly disappointed. The stories were not very engaging, and unlike Sherlock Holmes stories did not leave the reader in suspense, dangling clues. They were short and undeveloped. Great potential, solid writing, poor execution.

First off, I love mysteries, and this anthology of Father Brown short stories is really delivering. I've read two this far, and they have kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm not going to read the entire book in a single sitting, but I'm planning on reading it throughout the year.
