I wish I had words to describe how the end of this series makes me feel. If I had to choose two words to verbalize my emotions I would choose: unhappy and unfulfilled.

Don't get me wrong, Kendare Blake is an amazing writer and the plot for this series was interesting and unique; but I feel like the way this series started and how it ended does not really match. I thought this series was supposed to be about 3 sisters but it really ended up being about someone I thought was a lackluster character from the very beginning. I loved this series so much after the first 2 books but after reading book 3 I knew how the story was going to end with Five Dark Fates. I feel like this book does a disservice to Mirabella and Katharine and the whole Blue Queen/ Mist plot points really led to nothing. I found myself wishing the story would end about halfway through. I finished it out of sheer stubbornness because I had invested so much time and money in the series. Honestly, I think if in the end Braddock had been crowned queen, I would have been happier.

I am giving this book 2 stars because Kendare Blake is such a fantastic writer.

The book was a bit slow at parts, but overall, it was a great ending to the trilogy. I loved the characters to the end and was satisfied with how things concluded.

I was very disappointed in this book being the ending of the series. I was really hoping that Blake would wrap up the story in a very different way, and I felt that the world building did not allow for the type of ending that was chosen. Unfortunately, for me, the first book was the best book in the series by far.
