“But just once, I would like to be given the benefit of belief rather than the expectation that I will fail.”

I do feel that this final book was a little disappointing but, I did enjoy some aspects of the book. I would be curious to see if I overall enjoy this series if I would reread this in a couple of years.

I will say I did not expect that ending.

While I really enjoyed this ending to the series, I felt that some things wrapped up a bit too neatly. I do highly recommend the series to everyone though!

This was a fine ending to the series. I wasn't really crazy about it, but it wrapped things up nicely and I was happy with the way it ended. It just seemed a bit rushed and pretty anti-climactic overall. I will say that I could never see a clear path to the end of the story in terms of who would survive, so it was nice to be surprised about the way the story ended. Something I loved about the series is its focus on women - we get a taste of romance and relationship subplots, but at the end of the day this was a story about sisters.

I cried more than I expected and was more relieved than I expected too. A fitting end to this chapter of Fennbirn's story.

I'm only giving it a 3 star because i did not like how the series ended. I feel if it was a true ruiner, soul-crushing tale of epic proportions, i would adore it. If i was left wasted on the floor drowning in my tears, i would applaud Kendare Blake for a magnificently written ending to a wonderful series. But it wasn't and yes I still cried but the ending had something lacking that has left me feeling cheated somehow. Still very beautifully written.
