Walking Disaster is just as good as Beautiful Disaster.

Travis is still the bad boy we all know and love and Abby Abernathy is still the sweet little girl we all love.

This story is just as fantastic as Beautiful Disaster and its so good to see Travis point of view.

Can't wait to read A Beautiful Wedding, Mrs Maddox and Beautiful Oblivion (Maddox Brothers, #1).

I would recommend Travis and Abby story.

Lol why did I read this whole book.

Interesting to read from Travis’s point of view but I still think I like the first one better from Abby’s perspective.

If you would have told me that I would read the exact same book, but from the male perspective I would have thought you were crazy. Especially this male perspective. In this version of the story we learn about Travis Maddox’s past and why he clings so tightly to the idea of “fighting for the one” his “Pidgon”. It is slightly endearing how much he loves his mom. However a boy with mommy issues is not really an excuse for his actions a lot of time. At least he feels conflicted about being an asshole right? Is it just me? Is it because I’ve recently read After and Travis Maddox seems tame compared to the kind of shenanigans Hardin Scott put Tessa through? But I don’t find Travis to be like any other 19/20 year old college kid that grew up with something missing and a chip off his shoulder. So is there a level of slut shaming in this book that is a bit uncomfortable, yes. Does it feel a bit “mansplainy” at times, very much so. However does it make me appreciate that it is 2023 and I know that men like this would never be given a second thought. Like toxic masculinity is out. However both Beautiful and Walking disaster have incredible voice actors reading the books and really do make or break if you’ll enjoy them. The movie that is coming out will I hope make it seem less clustered. It was enjoyable and simple.

I can see why the readers wanted a book solely of Travis' POV. I thought this was a perfect fit with Abby's POV and found myself enjoying reading his side and getting a deeper understanding of how Travis thinks. That being said, it is the exact same story so it can get bit repetitive. This didn't make for a bad read, it just made the particular story feel very long and drawn out. I enjoyed this book and loved the little extra parts of the story that wasn't in the first book or that was specific to Travis.

This is one of those guilty pleasure books that I just can't resist (and am a little ashamed to admit I've read). What worries me is not the writing, but that someone could possibly think that the relationship at the core of the plot could at all be considered healthy. Despite its support of the idea that an innocent girl will come in and change the bad boy, I did appreciate a different point of view from the parallel book, and that the epilogue gave us a conclusion.

Again, I'm happy I read this book. But this is the last I will read of the Maddox brothers. This is absolutely not a stand alone book. It is a companion to Beautiful Disaster and shouldn't be read without reading the first. It is simply the same story told from Travis's perspective.

I enjoyed reading from his point of view. You really learn where he is coming from, why he is the way he is. Why everyone walks on eggshells around him. It also shows how loyal and tight knit he is with the people in his life that are important to him. His relationship with Shepley is so much more than you see in Beautiful. They are so close and important to each other. He is Travis's support system so much more than anyone else. Also seeing him rely on his father and brother when he needs advice and love. Seeing him realize how important Abby is to him and fighting it tooth and nail. Then him losing that battle and trying to figure out how to get her. and keep her. Just really enjoyed it.

I did not enjoy the epilogue, it was unnecessary. It definitely seemed like it was a big FU to the readers who doubted that this was "lasting" relationship. This was what made me look into what Beautiful Oblivion was about and the wedding novella. I am choosing to end this series now before reading the wedding story and completely ruining it. I have not read the story, but from the reviews I have read it seems completely ridiculous and destroys their actual happy ending. I also have no desire to read about another Maddox brother during the same timeline of the first two books.

Happy to end with a happy ending now.

Well, seeing as I was in the minority and highly disappointed with [b:Beautiful Disaster|11505797|Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)|Jamie McGuire|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1358259032s/11505797.jpg|16441531], I wasn't expecting much from the sequel. BUT I did find myself hoping that seeing the events play out from Travis' perspective would be slightly more bearable than being in Abby's head was because he was more honest and up-front about what he wanted. But alas, I was simply disappointed again.

I think I got through the first chapter before I started skimming to the more interesting parts--why he calls her Pigeon (which wasn't that mind-blowing), the Vegas trip, the subsequent break-up (I love the break-up scenes. It's kinda embarrassing...), and the Thanksgiving trip--but none held my interest. I am very reluctant to read anything by Jamie McGuire again. We just don't have a good author-reader relationship.

Damn... I wanted so badly to be able to give this one five stars. Good to see Travis's POV, but some of the scenes felt redundant. McGuire cut out some scenes, but left in some that were straight dialogue the same as 'Beautiful' - I guess in case people hadn't read? Left me a little frustrated.

I was excited to read the epilogue after a couple of pre-release reviews popped up, but it did not feel like Abby and Travis - it was just weird for me.

Hm.

It was the perfect male POV (of the same story) because it never allowed the readers to re-live the story again. Some male POVs irritate to death because they just feature the same dialogues, that I had to just skim due to the fact that I already know and read those parts. (Ehem Leif)

This was perfect because even though the same things are happening, you were given a whole new perspective on the situation.

We understood a lot more from Travis (especially when Abby was hot then cold), his confusions, whenever he has fights, the Vegas scene and why he was dazzled by the money, and especially his love for Abby.

So yeah, this IS the perfect male POV. Thank you for creating Travis!
