absolutely adore the art. a pretty good adaptation of the first two books, although it might be harder to follow without prior knowledge of the story. the art, character design, and facial expressions absolutely sell it though, and this is a great gift idea for any fan. fireheart is so extremely lovable in this. very very very excited for the next one.

I love Warriors, and have read the original books several times over. This adaptation is very cute and mostly accurate to the original story. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because some of the cat depictions don’t match how I’ve seen them before (mostly the eyebrows freaked me out haha) and the story was a little too rushed. I don’t think this would be good for new fans of the series, but for those who have read the books you’ll enjoy it!!

My 11-year-old niece recommended this for us ti read together because she loved the original series and thought the graphic adaptation would be cool. She seemed to enjoy it but felt the original was better. For me, the art was fine but the storytelling and plotting was not is my overall point. For instance, I liked the little feature at the end of the creators who adapted the novel into graphic form discussing there process more than I enjoyed the graphic novel itself. I wanted to love it but I think it was so hard to follow narratively. So many of the characters were squeezed in it was hard to follow. The world building was kind of rushed through and didn’t land, more time was spent on battle scenes than on that which is pertinent to a story like “Warriors” and such a sweeping series. I may read the next adaptation when it comes out but I’m on the fence currently.

Warriors is a hard series to capture with its long history of fan interpretations. These two illustrators did the perfect job, though. The designs were exactly what I always pictured, the scenery was gorgeous, and the expressions in every character was the right amount of fun. The pacing struggled a bit, but I don’t think there’s much to do about it.
