“Endings are rubbish. No such thing. Never has been, never will be. There is only the place where you choose to stop talking. Everything else goes on forever.”

I'll just be over here trying not to ugly cry that there's no more for me to read in this series.

A fantastic finale to a fantastic series! I loved every bit of this book, loved it so much i don't have words, and if you disagree, i will chew you up and spit you out the way blunderbus makes laws-the best way to make laws-and i'm a budding lawyer. There was just so much to this whole world that is wonderful and beautiful and perfect. I don't want to spoil anything, so suffice it to say that finishing this book left me both thrilled at all the awesome and heartbroken that there is no more. But nothing is ever over, as the narrator says. I can always go back and read it all again, and i shall.

I'm glad I've finally finished this series, and I don't regret reading them, but I'm a bit disappointed with this book, like I was with book four.

I think this just got too whimsical, too flowery for me. The writing was just too much. Everything had to be described in very long paragraphs, and I ended up skim reading the descriptions because I just couldn't take it any more.

This book also suffered from too many characters. Most of the books in this series have a lot of characters, but this one seems to have every character that has ever been in any of the other books, perhaps as a way of saying goodbye to them all, but it made it very hard to keep track of them and figure out who was who. It didn't help that it's been so long since I've read the other books in this series - I would recommend reading all of them in a short time frame so you don't forget who is who between each book!

I did like the story overall, even if it was hard to follow at times, and I'm glad I got to see how September's story ended. I think I would read this to my child(ren) some day (if I ever have any), as it is very good for younger readers, in my opinion. Overall, this was a solid three star read. A satisfying, if somewhat disappointing end to the series.

I LOVED reading these to my kids. I laughed and cried, they were never were a bore (though sometimes the words were a mouthful), they celebrate imagination and grit and whimsy and fun.

I was able to get an advanced copy through my work, and I am so incredibly happy that I did.

This book is beautiful. The ending it perfect, and honestly if I hadn’t been reading it while at work I probably would have cried. This is the perfect end to the series, though to be honest I would love more, full books, different series set in the same world, novellas, short stories, everything. My heart bursts and fills over and over again when I read these books. Every time I read one it makes me want to go back and re-read them all over again.

September is in a race to rule fairyland. Everyone and anyone is welcome to the Derby, but it’s not just a race they also have to find the heart of fairyland to win the crown and rule. Every ruler of fairyland is back from the beyond and everyone wants to win. With the help of Ell, and our beloved Saturday September wants to win fairyland but can she compete with the Fairy Queen, or the Ice Cream Man? How about fighting the Marquess again? Duels if you are in the same space as another racer determine if you have to go back from whence you came, and of course we have to travel all of Fairyland to find her heart. Is it in Ell’s Great Grandmother on his father’s side? Is it in the Sea that Saturday grew up in? Is it somehow in the land of Wom? Oh September how my heart loves you.

With the dreamy and romantic verse that we all love, let the narrator tell you the name of the amiable dog, let the narrator take you to the briary but this time with a queen, and let the narrator tell you the story of September and just let your heart sigh sweetly.

For those who have read all the others and are hoping this isn’t the last one read this book you will love it.

I love everything about this series, especially the lyrical quality of the writing, the wonderful characters, and its complete uniqueness in a setting that seems like it should be old hat. Fairies? Trolls? Changelings? Not like you've read before. So fun, but also poignant.
