TW : rape

The plot was good-ish, however the characters were annoying.

Alison organises a dinner party with her college friends to celebrate their friendship. But the party turns tragic when Alison's best friend, Karen, bursts into the house in a state of shock. She claims that Alison's husband raped her. Mike swears he is innocent.
Alison is torn between believing her best friend and defending her husband.

The story tackles the difficulties of such events. It shows that it is not always that easy to believe the victim on the spot and that truth can be bent.

Punching a head

Oh god, I want to punch almost everyone! Especially Ali! Only person I didn’t want to punch a bit was the baby.
There are so many things wrong with this book and so many loose ends.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat and fits the definition of Murphys law. I wish the author wrote more from the perspective of Jodi so we would know her backstory more.

This book was definitely a difficult read, but I found it super interesting and was really shocked by the ending. Would recommend to others but with the warning that it is a difficult topic to read about.

Had me hooked

Quick, gripping read of a psychological thriller/mystery that explores the dark underbelly of group dynamics and long-term friendships. The author deals with complex m, sensitive topics in a skillful way.

Omg this protagonist was such a dumb bitch I just can noooooooot. I’m so tired of thrillers with hand wringing brainless female leads.
