A story with complex characters that accurately portrays an abusive relationship, especially how abusers cut you off from friends, or at least try to. All told with a beautiful art style that uses only black, white, and pink.

TWs: emotional abuse, unplanned pregnancy, drinking.

This was a pretty well done ya graphic novel that follows Freddy as she writes to an advice column to help her navigates a toxic in and out of relationship with it girl Laura Dean. I enjoyed the outlook of a teens journey through the ups and downs of relationships, friendships and teen pregnancy. The paneling and way the story was conveyed was easy to follow and structured well.

Overall it is a great read for any high schooler or anyone who has ever been in a toxic relationship and needed help navigating their way through.

I was finding it difficult to read stories so I picked up this comic. It made me sad but also showed the importance of how you should avoid getting into relationship which feel one sided and the problems caused by having shitty people around you causing you to be like them. Talk to your friends and make sure they are ok too.
Easy read, the art style and colours chosen for this monochromatic comic is absolutely beautiful. Its very short sadly but still would recommend it.

 - I truly love that there are enough queer books out there now that it's possible to have books that show queer people can be jerks, too.
- LAURA DEAN KEEPS BREAKING UP WITH ME really gets into heavy teenage feelings: that feeling that this might be your only chance at love, even though you're so young.
- I loved the art style of this book as well. It's much more detailed than many YA graphic novels are, and I felt it really got some of the emotional nuances across well.
