this made me tear up a bit . . . it was so tender and heartwarming, and yet it still managed to handle important topics regarding teenage life, abusive relationships, and even abortion in a nuanced and realistic way. the art was beautiful. i loved this 💗

A cute coming of age graphic novel. Not a particularly fun read though since Freddy spends the majority of the book miserable due to the toxic relationship she has with Laura Dean which spills into other parts of her life. It had a good message, interesting representations, and pretty artwork, but again it just wasn't really an enjoyable experience to read it.

The art on this graphic novel is absolutely stunning, but I wished  we could've had more thoughtful conversations. There were a lot of plot points that never really got anywhere and could've have been helpful and really interesting to the premise and overall message of the book. A cute read overall.
