The art on this graphic novel is absolutely stunning, but I wished  we could've had more thoughtful conversations. There were a lot of plot points that never really got anywhere and could've have been helpful and really interesting to the premise and overall message of the book. A cute read overall.

There were more layers to this than I expected, and the art was beautiful. The characters read a little older than I guess they were, and I found those reminders a little jarring. I really liked the focus on the friendships around the focal relationship.

I absolutely loved the art style of this book. The color palette and the delicate lines created such a strong mood. If you’re a person who has ever watched someone be in a relationship with a manipulative/toxic person, this is a tough and stressful read.
I think it’s important to show those kinds of relationships as a warning, but I also wish that the decision to break up with Laura Dean came from within Freddy instead of from an adult woman on the internet. The ending tied up a bit too nicely for me, but I did feel strongly for Freddy and was relieved that she was out of that situation.

I love the art style and that this graphic novel is not demonizing polyamory in any way, it even makes it point that it is a normal thing.
Also it shows in such a good way, that some relationships don't work and that it is ok that way

Just in the begining i wanna mention this book mentions eliot page by his deadname because this book released before he came out as trans
This book wasnt like the other happy go lucky graphic novels , it delt with a number of sensitive issues like toxic relationship , toxic freinship teen pregnancy abortion and more , but it handled all of those so delicately , and still showed how messy teenagers can be with thier chices , decisions and responsibilities .
Laura isnt a likeable character at all , she is infuriiating , confusing and overall a total douche , while freddy too isnt all very nice herself , she is wrapped in this toxic relationship with laura and cant get out of it , cant stop the cycle of thier on and off realtionship which inturn effects her frienships .
Laura dean keeps breaking up with me is real , raw and is an amazing read .

My brain is telling me "this book was good, but it didn't really WOW me" but also there's nothing I would change about it?
Idk I guess I was thinking that Freddy was really stupid and I was frustrated bc I couldn't relate to her. But at the same time, I know people who are like her, so the ending made me happy and hopeful for other people in my life. And the advice at the end is applicable to any kind of relationship, I think. Doesnt have to be a romantic relationship.

This felt accurate and heartfelt about the difficulties of growing up, including learning how to be in relationships and how to not be in relationships, with all the messiness attached. I really liked the illustration style and overall pacing. It made me tear up but it also made me feel comforted.

There is one annoying part where it buys into a pretty common issue in contemporary queer discourse and media representation... assuming people, especially dependent children, need to come out to 'live authentically' even at significant risk. (There's a good YouTube video about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ayN79gVxtY.) It's only a few pages but I just could've done without that at all.
